IRE has had a solid couple of weeks..
I'm certain the ASX will take them out in the not too distant future.
Iress controls the equity order routing space in Australia. Almost all brokers and fundies execute using Iress' IOS system.
With the new dark pools about to get finally approved by ASIC Iress will become the network/interface to allow trading on these other markets to occur.
If the ASX took out Iress they could effectively control trading on these other markets. (or at least clip the ticket)
I'm in for the short term. ASX will have to offer a decent premium to get control.
