May be you can find a clue on their Christmas casual staff.
One of my friend son working on DJS last Christmas 2010 as a casual contract. They got their shift cut to 3 hours a week, and sometimes none in a week during the 3 months contract. My friend's son asked for a reason on the low hours shift and they just said "We are on tight budget, the manager above just cut my department budget, I can't give you anymore hours".
