Alcoa...... been posting about this co relation between Alcoa and Loy Yang Power for years on hotcopper.
"Big Thank you to management" in commercializing Coldry in India that has a government which has set pro active regulations in bringing about change in the use of lignite as fossil fuel .
If Alcoa shuts down it also effects LYP as it looses over 30% revenue and will need to find alternative customers.
What implications will that have???
Maybe some sense will prevail and the lignite can be Dryed before being burned.....wishful thinking for Christmas ???

If Victoria decides to turn to gas as the main energy source it will be not only Alcoa shutting down but a larger manufacturing sector.
look at WA and the effects of gas prices on manufacturing.
