Here's my 2c worth:
I doubt Google will be a threat in the real estate scene - brand presence is everything - REA & Domain are at the top and the first that people will checkout when doing property research. Just like Google is generally the first search engine (perhaps the only!) we all use to look up something on the web. Even Zeroagents admits this and needs their services...hence why he is so angry at them denying him access.

"Google Base is coming. I have been personally informed by a senior manager at Google Australia that it would launch sometime this year. This same senior manager informed me that they were looking at populating their database initially with property from Domain and Realestate.com.au. They were in discussions with both companies."
If REA & Domain offered their data bases to Google Base, it would be at a significant cost and generate more $ for both. Or Google base would just redirect hits to REA or Domain, again generating $ for them.

This zeroagents guy is stuck between a rock & a hard place!
