Exactly. Abbott announced some months ago his intention to regulate union finances so they are regulated by the same governance as companies. That is an extremely smart move and the timing will never be better. The policy is code for shutting off the flow of money from Members>Trade union>ALP or ALP candidate.
The Coalition and Premier Newman here have also flagged regulating the flow of donations to political parties without a vote by members. There appears to be a strategy to stem this theft of money from members, given to the ALP in order to buy patronage.
