My point is if you are tightly held and there is no significant news then your share price will not double in 12 months. You are banking on the shorts having to cover quickly to raise the share price. The main shorts will only cover if there is whisper of a very positive announcement
ie Takeover, as in my original post. Not all shorts have a time frame to cover. Indeed the larger shorters can hang on for as long as they think there is no real positive news. Ironically because of their substantial shareholding they will be the first to know of strong positive news flow and will start covering their positions in a slow and orderly manner. IMHO
