    I think you'll find BD Kiestra's 'automation' doesn't include analysis, it automates the most of the 'physical/manual' processes within the labs, the Automated Plate Assessment System (APAS) technology is separate from this, it essentially attemepts to 'pre-define' the culture, prior to being 'confirmed' by human intervention...
