From the recent SYR EGM if I recall properly the extra distance in trucking down to Nacala (instead of Pemba) were that it was cost neutral to even positive as the port costs at Pemba were considerably higher than at Nacala. Nacala also has the benefit of warehousing which is not available at Pemba and again if I recall correctly I believe they (SYR) have already done a deal there. (Stand to be corrected here.) The warehouse of course offering the ability to handle bulk product and so allow delivery to port not related to outgoing shipping.
