    Djdutts,

    The blinds have to be up so that any fires or damage can be seen by the passengers and cabin crew, especially during or after an emergency landing.

    That way, if one side is on fire, the passengers can exit from the other side.

    I find it annoying that on some airlines, they make you put the blinds down during the flight.

    How the hell are you supposed to see outside if the damn blinds are down?!!
