The board of Swiftel Limited is pleased to announce that it has achieved it's maiden Positive Earnings before Interest, and Tax, (EBIT) for the month of November.
The result follows increases in the signing up of a number of significant corporate clients. A major contract has been signed with the Police and Nurses Credit Society after a tender process and due diligence was carried out on Swiftel by Police and Nurses Credit Society.
Other customers include the City of Stirling, Brown & Root and the WA Electoral Commission.
A total of over 100 customers have been signed utilising Swiftel's products and services in Western Australia since the commissioning of the Swiftel network.
The five months to 30th November 2002 saw Swiftel's sales grow significantly with total contracts signed to date exceeding $5.1 million.
Swiftel provides a premium, high speed, high bandwidth, broadband optical telecommunications network for business and government in Perth and throughout Western Australia. The network integrates advanced high-capacity fibre-optic cable with state-of-the-art switching technology to support a carrier grade IP network and emerging technologies.
Swiftel recently announced its plan to grow its business into the Melbourne and Sydney CBD markets after signing a Telstra Wholesale agreement allowing access to Telstra's network.
