Hi Travis,
With respect to you and your question,
suggest great caution in making any investing decision based on the opinion of any stock analyst (whether they openly claim to be a fool or not).
It has been my observation over the years that stock analysts are completely unreliable and usually self serving. The patterns play out again and again... a stock is rising and rising, well past it's intrinsic value and that's just the point when the analysts get excited and raise their "target prices". Even though that is potentially a selling opportunity or at least a hold.
Then when you see a stock getting crushed and the value drops precipitously the analysts fall all over themselves to put out a sell rating... just when you should be buying! Why? Because they do not want to "look" bad. It takes confidence to buy in the down times and discipline to hold or sell in the up times - or to write about doing it.
Also they seem at times completely unaware of and uninterested in what makes a business fundamentally sound and strong. You might be better off with a blindfold and a dartboard than listening to analysts...
For me the universe shrinks to the highest quality companies and they become worth buying when their share price falls comfortably below what I think a share should be worth. This seems to be a foreign concept to most analysts. If you think about it... if they were really good at picking stocks they would be managing a portfolio... not writing about it. As it stands they get paid no matter how consistently bad their advice is...
Anyway my 2c...
