I think they should bring the tax in, but gradually,and progressively over a decade or so,and put all that extra money in to mending this country.
Everyones so keen to reap the profits of mining, but pay bugger all respect to the land in return.
Short term mentality is rife......look ahead one hundred years in terms of our environment instead.
And tax the banks the same,and drop negative gearing, and bring some sanity back to this society, in terms of the rampant consumerism,the ridiculous need to own numerous houses......blah blah blah.
Many great industries could be born out of a concerted effort over the next few decades in fixing this land and it's vast infrastructure,and we'd certainly reap the rewards.
