Thanks. I'm not a trader and my knowledge about "Shorting stocks" are very limited. Terminology used in this space also, sometimes, give rise to different interpretation and understanding on my part. On this issue, when you talk about 30mil shorted share, my understanding is that that means some 30mil share sold into the market as "shorts", the borrowers, when selling into market, believing the SP will go down.
If some 3 mil from todays trades were shorts, then there is someone who might now be sitting on a "loss" if the SP stays at 7.8 and increases over the next 2 days.
Also all those 30mil shorts needs to be "closed" and according to you, the 11mil shorts of yesterday and previously accumulation of shorts are yet to be closed. I'd have thought that, with the sp having dropped to 7.4c with 3 trade days before EOFY, shorters would start closing the positions as of yeterday.
Interesting topic and traders' advice on this, in particular reference to FAR's share trading, would be appreciated.
