    ‘Snipingfrom the sidelines’: Clare O’Neil’s ‘frazzled PR spinning’ amid High Court saga(msn.com)

    News Digital Editor Jack Houghton says there is another element to the High Court saga, which is the “frazzled PR spinning” of Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil.

    “Our Political Editor Andrew Clennell had a great scoop this week, andit sent the government into crisis management,” Mr Houghton said.

    Mr Houghton’s remarks come after Sky News revealed Home Affairs MinisterClare O’Neil and Immigration Minister Andrew Giles in August signed off ondesperate attempts to have Rohingya child sex criminal detainee NZYQ sent toanother country.

    Labor has come under fire over its handling of a High Court case aftermore than 100 detainees – including hardened criminals – were released into thecommunity.

    “O'Neil is under some serious pressure, which is why her social mediastrategy is so interesting,” Mr Houghton said.

    He said the Labor minister was acting as if she was still in oppositionwhile “sniping from the sidelines”.
