it would be correct that the death cross might signal a reversal instead of of a continued bearish trend IF the index went down like a waterfall due to panic selling, because the moving average was simply trying to catch up and it needs time for the cross to appear, so by the time the two moving average crosses, stock index is probably already on the way back up.
But what we are seeing now is not a collapse due to panic but a steady drop due to unfavorable market conditions, so the cross this time might have some weight behind it and tbh I don't think the worse is over in terms of the general market.
If you consider people giving technical indicators is fooling people just because it's not the way you hope it is, maybe you should look at things objectively...I mean a death cross is indeed appearing, that's a fact not some random bullshit down ramp, not sure who's the fool here but I'm definitely not on your side even though I'm holding this "junk" of a stock as well.
