Despite the progressive taper down from 85% to 20% for families above $65,710/year (and below $350,000/year), it is estimated that the new package will be advantageous to the vast majority of families (70% to 75% depending on different sources), i.e. the aggregate childcare purchasing power will increase as a result of the reform.
So poorer families and families under the threshold of $65,700 to $350,000 will see their Rebate increased. Families above that level will lose their rebate completely.
