    Something to think about.

Buried among all the positive spin in the recent announcement was the statement about further tests being conducted to try and figure out what is happening at a molecular level with QHL's technology. On the face of it, it works, but they don't actually know why it works. This is critical information if you are going to use these materials in supersonic fighter aircraft and commercial airliners.

If there is something going on at a molecular level that doesn't add up, or something that means these materials may not function as expected under stress, or with age, then you have a problem. Aircraft manufacturers don't like surprises of the material failure kind. They need to satisfy themselves that everything they put into an aircraft will function as it is supposed to function, year in year out under every conceivable circumstance. Bit like drugs really. I suspect this product is somehwat further away from mass manufacture than many people would like to think.

    Just a thought.
