In 1981, I was in New York State and I overheard a policemen bragging to a friend about how he received 200% off for some purchace in some department store.
I was about to comment, but the thought that this rather large rednecked American policeman might not have a reasonable sense of humour convinced me to show keep my mouth shut instead of asking him how much money did the store pay him to relieve them of this obviously troublesome product.
