I'm struggling to see how that's the most prudent use of bank capital. BOQ will really struggle to grow their asset base if they're having to compete with big4 for funding. Especially if this Europe banking 'issue' becomes a 'crisis'.
18% upside in a market downturn like this isn't all that much really. Could drop that much in a week, no risk/return.
