    As an observer of Trump from the late 1980s onwards, and an avid viewer of the first six seasons of The Apprentice, I'd agree with that. A simple message that people could relate to.

    It was BS. I think even Trump supporters knew that.

    Deep down most knew he wasn't going to build the biggest tower (yuge!), or a massive wall, or develop real estate in North Korea to turn it capitalist. But somehow they loved the sheer gall of forcing powerful people to repeat his lies and "confirm" them as fact. Or for commentators to review his lifetime of failures and proclaim them "astonishing achievements". Or to watch him say the most stupid things imaginable in front of leading global experts and for them not to interrupt to tell him he was spouting utter crap. That was exhilarating to people who had never had success, held power or shaped the destiny of others. A liar, loser, blowhard, serial bankrupt and grifter as leader.

    There's a little bit of the loser in all of us. That's the bit that loves Donald.
