In July 2013 NTEPA set out its statutory functions when assessing EIS.

Following TNG s filing of its Notice of Intent The NT delivered Terms of Reference highlighted water modeling as a critical focus ( March 2014 para 3.3.6 and 5.2) required a " regional hydrogeography in terms that will provide a comprehensive baseline of pre disturbance conditions..... "


Just to remind everyone in March 2016 CLC filed detailed EIS submissions raising specific water issues. So important was it that it (water monitoring , modeling and draw down impacts) features as the first recommendation/concern.

To keep it in focus, the Joint Northern And Central Land Coucil filed submissions with the Dept of Environment in June 2017 in relation a review of the EIS consultation process setting out its proposed joint consultation process for mining and infrastructure development. Up with sacred site protection was/is protection and careful sustainable use of water resources.

GHD claim they have answered these concerns firstly in their draft EIS (para 7 onwards , 30 pages) and later in the Suppliment.

Yet now some 4 years on ,at the pointy end, these concerns remain and have not been put to bed at least publicly. Time to go so by filing the MMP then we will know.
