This is a true story from around 5 weeks ago, a young guy I work with had a Border Collie ad it got a tick, he took it to the vet and they demanded 1000$ up front and said that was just the start and more would be needed as treatment went on, seeing as he had removed the tick and dog didn't seem that sick and also the fact he had a large mortgage and a young family he advised the vet he would take the dog home and nurse the dog himself, that same afternoon the RSPCA arrived at his property to confiscate the dog, has was given the choice of paying for treatment or signing over the dog or facing charges, his young family was traumatised and upset but he could not afford thousands for a dog he didn't think was that sick.
What would the RSPCA think of how rural dogs are treated?.
