    That is so odd!!

    I volunteer with RSPCA caring for quarantined dogs until fostered or adopted. If we see a tick we remove it with a small tool. I just check tick has head still attached after removal and never call the vet.

    Some come in covered in paralysis ticks. Just remove, put on a tick collar (tip here: put the snipped off ends of tick or flea collars in vacuum bag or amongst stored bedding). Obviously monitor health of dog, but if no change, no vet.
