we are not all built the same way. Some are sprinters, some are long distance and some are mid distance.

Add to that emotion and nerve and no reasons are required for pulling out of the race. Also you cant just decide to go for a marathon one day and then do it.

You need to be prepared physically and mentally otherwise you should not have ventured onto the track at all.

I am confident there are more than a few in this for the long haul who started out looking for a shorter journey.

Add to that the odd pest looking to disrupt the race ala Cadel Evans and his flat tyre due to some idiot throwing tacks onto the course. Who would do that sort of thing? Same mentality as those looking to get in the way here, we will not understand them and shouldn't try, just be aware there are nuisance value people out there and avoid them is how i prefer to view them.
