I don't trade the money markets, so I'm certainly not talking from experience, but considering the current state of the financial world, I don't think it would be a good time to start (at least not with actual money).
Unless you go back to 1987, TA is not going to be too accurate. Everyone seems to be saying that many rules no longer apply and that conventional wisdom built up over the last 15 years is now useless.
At the very least you should try some paper trades first, and not just one or two. Good luck with it.
Gold shares might be worth considering too. Some are up 50% this last few days e.g SBM
