I couldnt agree more BUT if you are a TA trader these guys are going to jerk your chain at every turn triggering your stop loses and providing momentum with "dark pool" trading and other neferious activities
in effect these trading /hedge funds/merchant wankers can trade between branches at little brokerage cost and maintain exactly the same holding position while apparently the shareprice goes up or down flushing out sellers.So under these circumstances although high volume of shares are turned over the instos can in effect have the same overall positions(of the(parent co) by trading with themselves (through subsiduaries) while accumulating at the cost of the small guys
