Pla2Win - the 3 apples in the photo do not look ready for eating just yet - still a bit green(haha)
Firstly a 'column' variety is as far as I am concerned not a type of apple which are Cox's Orange, Granny Smith,Delicious etc etc.
The 3 in the photo maybe Golden Delicious ( taste marvellous when tree ripened) & yours seem to have a blush of colour where the sun can shine on them - they will stay green if covered by leaves or other fruit.
From memory most apples have 5 apples in a 'bunch' where your photo shows 3. It pays to remove some of the fruit at an early age so that the remaining apples can grow to a larger size especially for young trees.
