another boat hoves into view today - now almost a daily occurrence. Howard was wrong they bleat? When, at his vote-out, there were no boats, and four people only in detention? And Abbott's long-laying catch0cry at the last election was "we will stop the boats". well, no one listened. And now this fiasco!

This post is dead right - these people, in the main (generalising) ARE ILLEGAL immigrants - a fair percentage of them not genuine refugees, but monied destination cherry-pickers according to their economic futures plans - and ours the place they have crossed many borders to choose!

why not, then, start up a cruise ship service - Bali to Christmas Island - charge some exorbitant passage, and then at least we re-coup some of what we'll eventually have to fork out in do-gooder welcome hampers - legal housing clothing, food, and sometimes lifetime welfare benefits.

No one drowns at sea - Australia re-coups some monies - people smugglers put out of business, overnight.

Condition of boarding - passengers must have relevant personal paperwork. Proof of nationality. Family history records. Marital status - how many children at home - home address? Profession? Education? Reason for wanting to live here?

How many would then pass muster as genuine refugees? Not many - they would be shown up for the economic "refugees" they really are.

Half joking? Maybe. But, and it's a big but, we have to remember, at the risk of being labelled racist or redneck, it is the subtle aim of some sections of various political and religious movements, that, given time, our way of life as we know it will be overtaken and submerged, and all by way of outbreeding the prevailing status quo population.
A required outcome well planned, which OUR welfare system will be supporting. Our dominant religion will then be that of Islam, make no mistake. Perhaps we will then live under Sharia law as well. And be made to pay taxes if we refuse to convert - as is the custom elsewhere.
Not perhaps for 70 or 150 years - but many who could go forward in some time machine would find the UK, and many European countries too as we knew them) will find the world they grew up in and lived in will be a hugely changed place - unrecognisable socially and in prevailing laws and governance.

Why the heck are we, then, so gullible! Allowing people smugglers, and these calculating well-heeled "clients" of theirs, to dictate their terms to us - and us caving in like weak ninnies to their will!

All of us too scared to utter one word of protest - in fear of the resultant adverse, unjustified and insulting labelling" of racist or red-neck?

This "I have no paperwork" get in free plea is an absolute joke. What does one rush for in terms of threat by fire or flood? Why, one's family records and personal papers, of course!

If these armadas of "fortune seekers" keep coming, we may well ask what use is having any border security at all, if it's being so constantly breeched?

I predict my opinions here will now result in my being labelled "redneck or racist" too. It's the prevailing trend in OZ now - if you disagree with someone, attack them personally.
