I do not know where everyone got the idea that Chinese will take over LYC. I do not think Japan (funder) will allow that. Also it looks like Japan is not interested to take over as well. I believe that if LYC will stay on course and survive the current market condition this will be a gem. In the short term, there are three controllable triggers of SP spike that I am expecting:
1) positive cash flow;
2) signing of long term and stable contracts; and
3) production volume that is tied up on interest expense.
On the other hand, the following are non contollables that I am monitoring:
1) China regulation on REE;
2) Market price of REE produced by LYC; and
3) Market demand of REE vis a vis alternative materials.
I do not count loan from Japan as a high risk now since the Japanese are really serious on having a non chinese REE producer as demonstrated by its flexibility on its terms when LYC is in deep trouble.
I am looking to hold in three years or when my target sells price is reached.
