I tend to agree.
But part of me would still argue that salmon competes with flathead, gummy flake, whiting etc, tuna, prawns and at a stretch the entire protein sector. Including beef, lamb, pork and chicken. I've no doubt a reason chicken consumption is so strong is because it's cheaper per kilo than most other proteins, including salmon.
But yes, the big supermarkets would scream at the reduction in competition. How's the irony in that?
