What happened is that someone somewhere said that omega 3's are good for you, and that everyone should eat salmon. It drove the price up to ridiculous levels.
The people who come out with these claims about what foods are supposedly heathy, they change their minds all the time. Just wait - at some point they will be saying too much omega 3 is bad for you.
Excuse me while I go and eat some Goji Berries. Oh wait, that was last year's thing.
