Pull your own head in, I spend half my life at my house near Port Phillip Heads. There are a dozen or more small fishing boats within 500 metres of my house most mornings.
Sure abandoned fishing lines are a problem. But "Look over there" is a pathetic attempt to divert from the discussion.
Tassal appear to have a problem with sea birds getting caught in their nets. If that's true they need to look at it and address in a cost-effective manner. Business 101 for a sustainable business.
"see problem over there" is completely irrelevant to that.
They have a couple of options:
Option 1: Yeah, fair enough as a sustainable business we'll look into it. How bad is the problem and how expensive can it be to fix? No matter how environmentally conscious I think most people would accept they're not going to spend $30m to save 10 birds.
Option 2: Go away, nothing to see here. More photos next month, more bad publicity.
