Just speculating, but given that BHP wants to take over OZ Minerals and Oz Minerals wants to get control of Havilah, then why shouldn't BHP make a move on Havilah to improve its negotiating position with Oz Minerals? If BHP had a strategic stake in Havilah, it could improve the chances of OZ Minerals engaging with BHP. There would be a risk that OZ Minerals just exercises its option and leaves Havilah to its own ends, - so maybe its a dumb idea to start with. How would Oz Minerals respond I wonder? Maybe BHP should be negotiating with Havilah over Mutooroo? The logic of the three companies getting together remains compelling but how will the game play out? Any thoughts???? DDD
