So what happens when oldie becomes Nursing Home candidate? Ever experienced a govt. run facility of this kind and needed to cook for parent, in order to bring in sufficient food for life itself? Friend has mum in a private Nursing Home which is far from anything fancy. Home took Bond of $540,000 and charges $60 per day. When she was wheeled into hall where some music entertainment was going on, she was billed separately for a "carer" to push in the wheelchair before disappearing. Home then put her on the list for subsequent concerts which she did not wish to attend and quite capable of expressing his opinion. She can't care for herself any longer and could be housed in a nursing home for several years into the future..... Elder abuse is rife in nursing homes and govt. run ones are not going to provide you with anything but the very basics.....
