The thread heading is "Why you don't need $1m to retire", isn't it? My post is directly refuting that claim because there is, for many people, a legitimate concern that they may need substantial finances in order to get a place in a nursing home. I thought that would have been very clear to anyone reading it. Despite my best attempts, my mother spent almost 5 years of her life in several nursing homes until passing on at aged 97.
