Unfortunately for Terry Ryder he wrote this piece before the December quarter numbers were released, which once published showed that only Perth and Darwin were up for the quarter. Meanwhile Sydney was down 1.9%, Adelaide down 1.8%, Melbourne down 1.6% (and Brisbane, Canberra and Hobart also down). Sure makes his suggestion that 'the bottom has already happened' laughable. Indeed the only thing that's accurate in this piece is his statement that 'there’s nobody writing for newspapers with sufficient expertise to know a trough from a peak'. Yep, and he's one of them!
