Yes but this is the way HR is heading... most jobs with most companies especially on a larger scale require internal portal systems to apply for jobs.
Its a pain but its also a way to decrease applicants from just sending a resume.
I think the biggest issue is that USA has a very innovative culture and things are changing in the usa market. It also seems that we australians are a bit more specitcal.
