From SYD on Sunday August 15 2021, QAN Group has only three Jetstar-operated flights and four from QAN itself i.e red tails. A pathetic number for what from mid-afternoon should normally see domestic air terminals teeming with arriving and departing travellers.

There are only nine QAN 'red tail' flights departing Tullamarine (Melbourne), with only two timetabled after 1200 hours: one to Launceston at 1510 hours (the first QAN flight since 1130 this morning) and then the only Melbourne - SYD flight today at 1930 in the early evening.

Usually, Sundays would be not busy until about 1400 early afternoon, then very busy until stumps. Two or three years ago during non-school holidays, there may have been at least 30 QAN 'red tail' flights on the Mel- SYD route heading north (and the same number travelling south).

There are just six Jetstar-operated flights from MEL today, making a grand total of 15 for the QAN Group.

There are no Melbourne to Coolangatta (Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, Qld QAN group flights today. Who would have predicted that two years ago? It's winter in Victoria when historically thousands who can't afford or don't want an overseas holiday fly north instead to be ripped off in sunny, but expensive compared to Asia, land of the banana benders.

While up in Brisbane it's better with QAN 'red tails' scheduled to push back from the gate 26 times (or start from a tarmac apron position), half (13) of these are only small 'Q400' or similar turboprops seating a maximum 70, so overall seating capacity is way down.

Brisbane to SYD and Melbourne respectively are in normal times the #2 and #3 ranked routes yet today out of Brisbane Airport, just one QAN-liveried flight to each.

Jetstar has nine flights from BNE of which only three (to Ayers Rock, Launceston and Newcastle) are to interstate destinations. No service is operated by Jetstar today to Melbourne or Sydney.

QAN CEO Alan Joyce should send a special 'thank you' card on behalf of shareholders, executives and staff acknowledging 'Mad Mark' McGowan across in the West saying that even when vaccination levels reach '70 or 80 per cent', he'll still want zero COVID-19 'cases'. I didn't know he was God.

As someone said on a blog yesterday in relation to catastrophist Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, "Iris the Virus" will always beat "Dan the Man".
