I am not privy to how patents work but I do understand the motivator is the obvious $ compensation should it be used to further scientific monetisation. @pinthoo should at least weigh both sides of the argument before casting stones blindly.
If the Vaccine was other drugs approved by regulators/authorities, it would have kept the legal practioners up to their eyeballs chasing ambulances, a punt! lol
