I got into WIC a few years ago, averaged down significantly during the covid crash and have been pretty happy with my returns. I will be looking to cash out my profits at least asap.
I am also a WAM holder for several years and have been waiting for an opportunity to exit that holding for a while now. The performance of WAM just isn't there no matter what positive sentiment and numbers are reported, so the last thing I want is more WAM shares. I will have to do some more research but am thinking that I will continue to exit all of my WIC position in the coming weeks.
I have seen several takeovers by WAM of smaller funds since holding but it never seems to add up to any noticeable gains for share holders. We are always told it's great for WAM shareholders but I think what they really mean is great for management fees. I also hold WGB which has plummeted in SP since a takeover, what a joke, so my confidence of benefiting from going through with the merger isn't high.
