Hi Brett. Other way round. The most valuable oils are the ones with APIs between say 28 and 35ish(for operational reasons in the well and at the wellhead ,and in transportation ,and the lack of impurities/ease of refining) . These are the light,"sweet" ones. Benchmark WTI is an Intermediate at 39.6,and not actually a brilliant product vis a vis the lights...Over 40(ish )and they are described as heavy.....The recent hits at WB and L33 are of 35 oil-that is a pretty good grade but quite common around CVNs oily patch.
