Alright, I am a big fan of short squeeze and a big advocate of it. Firstly, wicked downhill are those typical short sellers that will try to push their narratives to get people to panic sell their shares. That's not gonna happen. In regards to his table comparison with Stockland and INE, come on! it's like comparing apples and oranges.
LIC focuses on the affordable housing market sector whereas INE & SGP are in the high-class sector. We do know that the wealth gap and affordability is getting out of hand and with the current interest rate, it seems SGP is at a higher risk imo as buyers couldn't afford it.
LIC has a very good locations and buyers can get the same experience e.g Ocean Groove vs INE NSW coastal areas for a fraction!
With all the panic noises about the property tax reform in VIC, I don't see how it will impact residential sales.
Data showed that 10,000 units of rental bonds were taken off from the VIC rental system out of 600,000 units. That tells us that VIC investors are ok with it. So, with Wicked Downhill trying so hard to push his short thesis about property tax reform, I think he should consider looking at the data.
Oh, I forgot about his comment on DFM. I think he doesn't realise that it gives buyers some confidence that this is giving LIC a large pile of cash to withstand any external shocks. Buyers want certainty that their money will be safe and avoid any potential bankruptcy.
