    the problem is the Western world has already achieved a very high standard of living and it's pretty unfair to say to China, India, Brazil etc sorry guys for the sake of all of us, stop growing now.

    For starters we need to put a value on rainforests etc - don't know how this would work but if they are valued higher than their value as palm oil plantations / woodchip and beef ranches perhaps destruction will slow....at least with ETS they had value as carbon sinks. Not that we are lily white we still log old growth forests which is moronic.

    Also need to slow down pillaging of fisheries, they're on the brink. Australia/NZ playing ball but many nations stick their thumb up at us and have no respect for sustainable catches.
