I have been thinking about the sudden onslaught of high sell orders, no where near the current price, 900k buy, and 3million sell, the change came this week after a ~10% run up.
Google gave me these answers... But #3 peaked my interest.
Market Manipulation: In some cases, individuals or entities might place high sell orders with the intention of manipulating the market. By creating the appearance of strong selling interest, they could influence the perception of the stock's value and potentially trigger panic selling or other reactions from other market participants.
Psychological Impact: High sell orders can also have a psychological impact on the market. They might signal to other traders that someone has a very optimistic outlook on the stock's future, potentially influencing their own trading decisions.
Pending News or Information: Investors might have access to pending news or information that could significantly affect the stock price. Placing a high sell order could be a way to take advantage of an anticipated price movement resulting from this upcoming news.
