all good points andrew but you are ignoring the obvious problem. people want to have wireless devices and not fixed line systems. This is the first year in history where PC sales actually fell and every manufacturer is scrambling to make the next ipad to keep capturing the wireless dollar.
Why on earth then do we need fibre to every residence in australia as a plan?
If you want to build a nation wide internet service with coverage cheaply, wireless is the obvious choice.
It is an ego trip for labor to insist otherwise.
