I remember when the internet was undergoing the majority of its growth phase, a number of companies were destined to make it big by offering free internet to every PC and make a killing from advertising revenue in the process. Not suprisingly the concept died a natural death and most failed. I can't help but think this is history repeating, I remember the day when my phone would only go online only when it had to, now it's not only online all the time but drives the connection to my laptop as well. This is becoming normal and will only get faster and cheaper and will remain relatively private.
As for the city square, there are already a number of free connections in the area, I know at Young and Jacksons I can pick up the McDonalds signal (not that I ever connect) so with all that, what makes GCN's wifi so special?
