bird flu, page-3

    Folks,

As the World Health Organisation puts it:

"Excluding the two deaths yesterday, bird flu has killed 232 people among the 366 known cases globally, among them 50 deaths in Vietnam."

Some HC posters such as "Sabretooth" frequently cite an asteriod strike on Earth as more likely than a (human) birdflu epidemic.

For those who have experienced the chaos of Asia and its endemic corruption, the phrase "KNOWN CASES" is especially revealing.

They will realise that the likelihood of a virulent influenza strain arising in the poor, overcrowded and insanitary Asian continent is in the "almost certain" category.

And what about the probability of the rise of a human-virulent mutation being hidden until it is too late in those places which fear loss of face even more than physical extinction?

I know that I risk being howled down as an alarmist carpetbagger interested in promoting mass death scenarios to line his own pockets. I couldn't care less.

My reason for investing and holding BTA is for the benefit of this planet by supporting the funding of scientific research. Which is why I haven't sold a single share since I bought in - and I have continued to buy in.

So no matter how much we wish it away or ignore it - like the inevitability of individual death - there will be a mutation that is virulent to and transmissable between humans.

    Only WHEN is in doubt.
