With the share transfer, the government has stated that it has done everything necessary to transfer the shares. The problem now is that the PNG Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) does not recognize the identity of the ABG recipient as a stamp duty exempt entity. The ABG cannot pay the stamp duty and therefore wants to change the recipient, which means that all PNG -NEC papers and government permits need to be renewed. This is our current position:
