Wilikie thinks he has been clever in snitching on Abbott..asking for what he wanted, then rejecting it for being outrageous. He luxuriates in the mindset of wanting power, then baulking when it entails responsibility. The classic behaviour of the snitch - he has not changed from his whistleblower days in the least.
His supreme irony is that in Abbott is that he required integrity and forebearance, the very same qualities that he lacked when he ran back to mummy and snitched.
Gillard might be patting him on the back at the moment, but when the going gets rough, you can fully expect this ex-Army officer to bail out of the trenches as soon as the going gets rough, so he can retain his "moral purity" while the team he backed sinks. A great team player to be sure. They taught him well in the Army lol!
