Denben, The rewriting of history over the sacking of Whitlam has been a long lasting project by Labor and its broadcasting arm, the ABC.
Fact; Governor General, John Kerr was appointed by Labor. There was a deadlock in the parliament. The GG sent parliament to the people. The people tossed the Labor government out in a landslide.
Labor supporters like to complain that parliamentary rules were taken advantage of to get the election called. Following the recent shinanigans of Labor this would be a hard line to maintain with a straight face.
Gough Whitlam was thoroughly rejected by the electorate. No amount of ABC mood music can rewrite the facts.
